Thinking About New Year Resolutions?
May I suggest you include these?
Happy Christmas Eve!
I hope that you have woken up today full of festive cheer, looking forward to the days ahead, rather than worn out from spreading yourself too thinly.
I am going to keep this short on this busy day.
Resolutions
I don’t really like the word resolution. It’s too loaded with failure, it’s almost a given that no one sticks to their resolutions for very long.
So I prefer to use the word commitment. Promise also works well for me because I pride myself on never breaking a promise.
Whatever word will encourage you to stick to those plans for yourself, is the one to use.
Before you start setting yourself goals based on having or achieving certain things, may I suggest you begin with some or all of the below;
A being goal, rather than a having or doing goal. For example, taking things a little less seriously. Or, backing yourself up a bit more. A promise to be your own cheerleader.
Enjoying where you at right now, rather than putting off happiness until you do and or have something more. An intention to take time out to recognise the good in every day.
Going easier on yourself. A commitment to treat yourself with more compassion and understanding.
Listening to your heart more. A commitment to your own, unique path and life journey.
A promise to check in regularly to appreciate your progress, however small.
An intention to put yourself first now and again.
And always remember :
You are enough right now. You do not need to have or do any more to be worthy of love, respect, and happiness.
With that said, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, full of love and laughter.
(And a few treats).
Lisa x
